Kalamies Restaurant opened in 1976 and became quickly a must-visit destination for quality fish and seafood. It’s just on the Kalamies Beach, offering marvellous views of the sea and a casual ambience for relaxed dining.
The menu lists all the usual Greek-Cypriot starters and mezes like tzatziki, tirokafteri, fava, eggplant spread, and hummus, but also grilled halloumi, fish soup with vegetables, oysters, and prawns saganaki. Then, there’s an extensive choice of fish dishes, with specials like sea bass sautéed in garlic sauce and lemon, fresh whole lobster in tomato sauce, cuttlefish grilled with olive oil and lemon sauce, and calamari stuffed with feta cheese and grilled. A selection of hot sandwiches and pizza rounds up the menu.
